Fusion Furniture Modeling and Rendering Case

After working in the furniture industry for 15 years, Bo and Alison Robbins decided to establish their own brand of quality home furnishings. They brought this idea to life in 2009 and called their start-up Fusion Furniture. Today, the brand boasts 450,000 square feet of manufacturing space, a new 200,000 square feet factory in progress, and 500+ dedicated employees. All these resources are used for producing quality American-made furniture at a value price.

To accelerate their way to leadership in the industry, the brand owners opted for services of CGIFurniture. They wanted to try the most innovative ways of product promotion so they ordered photorealistic CG silos, lifestyle images, 360° views, and videos. Our team loved the collaboration with Fusion Furniture as it involved working with stunning designs and having a lot of creative freedom. The brand owners, in their turn, got a variety of top-notch marketing materials for several promo campaigns. High-Quality Furniture 3D Modeling

Fusion Furniture manager Anna sent us photos and dimensions of upholstered pieces – sofas, chairs and ottomans we had to model. Our work here resulted in 37 high-quality 3D models created in 3ds Max. After Anna approved the accuracy of CG objects in terms of shape and proportions, 3D artists moved to the texturing stage.

Detailed Texturing of Furniture 3D Models

The references for textures were close-up photos of the furniture upholstery. Our CG artists accurately recreated all the depicted materials in 3D. And to make the result 100% photorealistic, they fine-tuned every seam and crease of the textures in Photoshop.

A-Class Silo Furniture 3D Rendering

The requirements of Fusion Furniture for silo images were standard – 3/4 angle views of the items, a white background, and 4k resolution. Also, the brand managers ordered lifestyle pictures for their products. They wanted every furniture set to be shown in a trendy interior. So, Fusion Furniture managers selected appropriate interior 3D scenes from our virtual library and our artists put 3D models of the pieces in them. Then, CG specialists perfected the composition and lighting, selected the most winning camera angles, and rendered the images.

Interactive 360° Product View and 3D Animation

The Fusion Furniture manager ordered 360° product views of 22 models out of 37. The resulting images had to consist of 60 renders each and be saved as GIFs. On the client’s request, we also made 6-second animations of 6 reclining chairs on a white background.

Photorealistic Lifestyle Furniture 3D Rendering

Fusion Furniture ordered lifestyle 3D rendering to showcase their products in natural environment such as interiors. This way, customers can easily imagine how the items will look in their homes. Our 3D artists made each 3D render as photorealistic and attractive as one can think of.

Top-Notch CG Visuals for Fusion Furniture Site

The company used silo and lifestyle 3D renders for their site’s online catalog and product listings. Animated 360° view videos were added to product detail pages. Now, potential buyers can see upholstered furniture in both static and motion visuals and examine every detail of each item from all angles. This way, they can make more informed purchase decisions and get furniture that is guaranteed to meet their expectations.
