Handles, hinges & fittings

3D Rendering for Hardware Manufacturers

Hardware is small, metallic and sold in dozens of finishes — three things that make photography slow and inconsistent. We render your catalog from CAD: every finish from one model, shown both isolated and installed on the furniture or door it belongs to.

Habco

Habco needed catalog imagery for furniture hardware where each part exists in several finishes and the differences are subtle. We modeled the range from their CAD and rendered every part both isolated and installed, applying finishes to the same geometry. The result is a catalog where a specifier can compare finishes on identical parts under identical light, and new parts are added without another photo session.

How it works

From CAD to a finish library

You send the engineering data. We handle modeling, finishes, scenes and delivery.

1
Step 1

Brief & input files

Share CAD or STEP files, exact dimensions, the finish list with physical samples, and the parts that matter commercially. Samples are essential here: metal finishes are judged on reflection, not colour.

2
Step 2

Geometry & clay approval

Parts are modeled with real machining detail — chamfers, knurling, fixing points — and approved as grey clay renders before finish work.

3
Step 3

Finishes & light

Each coating is built physically and lit in an environment designed to describe metal: controlled highlights, readable edges, no blown reflections.

4
Step 4

Isolated & installed

Parts are rendered on a clean background for the catalog and installed on cabinetry or doors for context, from the same approved models.

5
Step 5

QA & delivery

Each image is checked against your specs and delivered in the formats your catalog, spec sheets and dealer materials need.

CGI CRM

All work happens in one place

Your projects, feedback and finished assets live in our portal — not in an email thread.

Briefs, feedback and approvals

Set tasks, comment directly on renders and approve versions. Every decision stays attached to the image it belongs to.

Reusable asset library

Approved models, materials and scenes are stored and reused, so the next collection starts from what is already built.

Project history and delivery

Versions, results and final files in one place, available to your whole team whenever a catalog or campaign needs them.

Content formats

What you get from one hardware model

Every format below comes from the same approved 3D asset.

Silo and lifestyle renders

Clean product shots for the catalog and styled scenes for the brand — from one model.

Close-ups and feature images

Macro views of the materials, joins and details a buyer inspects before deciding.

360° product views

Spin sets that let a shopper turn the product and inspect it from every side.

Product animation

Motion that explains what a still cannot: mechanisms, assembly, scale and use.

AR and configurator assets

Optimised models that place the product in a shopper's room or drive an online configurator.

Catalog, ecommerce and campaign content

Crops and formats prepared for PDPs, dealer print, marketplaces and social.

FAQ

Answers to common questions

What do you need from us to start?

CAD or STEP files and physical samples of the finishes. For hardware the samples matter more than for almost any other product category, because brushed, polished and PVD coatings differ in how they reflect rather than in colour.

Can you render our whole finish library from one model?

Yes, and it is the main reason hardware brands move to CGI. The part is modeled once, then every finish is applied to the same geometry with identical lighting, so the finish chart is genuinely comparable.

Can you show mechanisms working?

Yes. Hinges, slides and locking mechanisms are modeled as assemblies, so they can be rendered in any position or animated — useful for both marketing and installation documentation.

Can hardware be shown installed?

Yes. Parts are placed on cabinetry, doors or panels so a specifier can judge proportion and projection, which a white-background shot never answers.

Do the models work for configurators?

They can be optimised for real-time use, so the same geometry approved for imagery can drive a configurator where a customer swaps a handle finish and sees it on the cabinet immediately.

What file formats do we receive?

Stills in print and web resolutions, animation as MP4, and the source geometry in OBJ, FBX, STEP or GLB — the formats your catalogue, configurator and specifier downloads need.

How long does a first project take?

It depends on the number of parts and finishes and on the quality of the CAD. After the brief you get a schedule with clay approval, finish approval and delivery milestones.

How much does hardware rendering cost?

Pricing depends on the number of parts, finishes and formats. Our price list breaks down project types with average costs and example results — download it above, or book a demo for an estimate on your catalog.
