How do you show what a product does when most of it lives behind a wall? Chicago Faucets needed installation visuals for a connected water management platform, a shower system that addresses water stagnation, and a touchless faucet — all for commercial facilities, all with complex installation procedures that happen inside walls and under sinks. The material had to be clear enough to work as a technical guide for installers, while polished enough to help facility managers evaluate the products on marketing pages and at industry events.
About the Client
Chicago Faucets is a U.S.-based manufacturer of commercial faucets and fittings with over 120 years in business. The company produces products for healthcare, education, foodservice, commercial, and laboratory facilities — including touchless faucets, metering faucets, shower systems, and the recently launched CF Connect PLUS, a connected water management platform.
Creative Elements Inc. (CEI), a marketing communications agency based in Frankfort, Illinois, manages visual content production for Chicago Faucets. CEI was our direct client on this project — coordinating briefs, feedback, and approvals between their team, Chicago Faucets, and CGIFurniture.
The Challenge

Chicago Faucets needed installation content across its product line: a newly launched connected water management platform for healthcare and commercial facilities, an established Auto-Drain shower system expanding into new commercial markets, and a touchless faucet series used across healthcare and public environments. Each product had its own installation procedure, and each was designed for a different type of facility.
CEI commissioned faucet installation animation that could work both as a technical reference and a marketing asset. Filming real installations across three different facility types wasn’t practical — 3D gave them controlled, consistent environments without booking a single location.
What We Did
CGIFurniture produced three 3D installation videos through our installation animation services, each covering a different product in a different setting.
The first video is an approximately two-minute walkthrough of the Gateway system — the core hardware behind CF Connect PLUS — in a US hospital room. The animation covers above-sink and below-sink components, showing how the faucet, converter, and temperature sensor connect into the full system.
The second is a shorter 3D installation video for a shower valve replacement — swapping an old valve with a new Auto Drain model and covering the existing wall opening with a conversion plate.
The third covers a touchless gooseneck faucet being installed in a small public restroom styled to look like a fast food restaurant. Some elements in the scene — such as water flow and hands — were produced using AI-assisted techniques alongside the 3D pipeline.
For each project, CEI provided STP files for the faucet components, installation storyboards, assembly brochures, and reference photography. In some cases, real installation footage was also supplied as a motion reference. Using our 3D modeling services, CGIFurniture’s team built or refined product models from the supplied CAD data and created the surrounding environments — the hospital room, the shower space, and the restroom — from reference.
Each animation followed the same approval workflow: still shots from key moments submitted first, then a draft animation at reduced quality for review. Comments from both CEI and Chicago Faucets were incorporated before final rendering. All videos were delivered in FullHD 1920p at 16:9 landscape.
One practical advantage of working in 3D: the faucet model built for the hospital video was reused in the restroom project, cutting production time and cost on the third video without rebuilding from scratch.
This kind of project — installation animation for commercial plumbing and sanitary ware brands — is a format we work on across multiple manufacturers and product categories.
How Chicago Faucets Used the Videos
Chicago Faucets published the animations on their website as installation guides. The CF Connect PLUS platform was officially introduced at the 2026 Healthcare Facilities Innovation Conference in Minneapolis — and the installation content produced by CGIFurniture was ready for the launch. The animations were also shown live at the Chicago Faucets booth during HFIC 2026.
For facility managers evaluating the platform, the animations show exactly what the installed system looks like and how setup works. For installers, the same product installation videos function as step-by-step guides. Using 3D this way means one production covers both marketing and technical documentation — two functions that would otherwise need to be produced separately.
For manufacturers launching technical products across multiple markets, plumbing 3D animation offers a practical alternative to filmed tutorials. Design changes result in a re-render, not a reshoot. New environments can be built without booking a location. And the same 3D product animation assets can extend into other formats — product page visuals, training materials, or trade show content — without starting from zero.
