Chandelier rendering for Livex Lighting: a three-tier woven drum chandelier over a bed in a bedroom with a peach abstract mural

How do you show a chandelier in a real room when your catalog holds hundreds of them, and each one comes in five finishes? A white-background shot tells a shopper what a fixture looks like. It can’t tell them how it sits above a dining table, or whether antique brass still looks right next to oak floors. A room scene does that. But nobody books a location, hangs the fixture, and styles the space for every item number in every finish, with every new collection. Meanwhile, the catalog, the retail listings, and the brand’s social feed all need a room image for each one. Livex Lighting has handled this since 2019 with chandelier rendering: room scenes built in 3D around the brand’s own product photos, 450+ projects so far.

About the Client

Livex Lighting is a decorative lighting company from Somerset, New Jersey, in business since 1993. Its catalog holds more than 4,000 styles: chandeliers, pendants, wall sconces, and outdoor fixtures, with hand-applied finishes that run from black and English bronze to antique brass and polished chrome. Livex doesn’t sell from a single storefront of its own. The fixtures reach buyers through a network of retailers and dealer showrooms, so every product has to look right on many websites at once.

CGIFurniture has worked with the Livex team since 2019. It started as a push to cover the existing catalog with room scenes, and 360+ SKUs have received theirs since. Our latest scenes are for the brand’s newest collections.

The Challenge

The first problem is volume. A Livex item number is a style plus a finish, so one chandelier in black, bronze, and brass counts as three products, and each of them needs a room image of its own.

The second is the photo itself. Every scene is built around the client’s own product shots, so the room has to match them in perspective and scale, not the other way around. With a new collection there may be only a few views to work with, and the camera has to go where the photo allows.

The third is the finish. A composite works for most fixtures, but high-gloss shades are another story. Placed into a rendered room, they lose their shine, the color shifts, and the picture stops looking like the product in the box.

And Livex rarely wants a copy of its references. Each new set of scenes calls for a fresh room, often a more upscale one than the inspiration images.

What We Did

CGIFurniture handles decorative lighting rendering for Livex through our lifestyle product rendering service, in one repeatable way. Our artists build the room in 3D, render it in V-Ray, and fit the client’s product photo into the scene at true scale and in matching perspective.

Room Scenes for Every Item and Finish

A typical task is one SKU in one room, shown from a few views: a wide shot of the space and a closer look at the fixture. A second finish of the same fixture doesn’t get the first room with the colors swapped. A black chandelier needs dark accents in the decor to echo it. A brass one asks for warmer surroundings. Chrome gets pale walls and white cabinetry. So each finish gets a setting tuned to it, and the resulting lighting lifestyle images look styled instead of templated.

From Brief to Scene

Client brief Result 1 Result 2 Result 3 Result 4

Livex briefs are short. One, for a large chrome vanity sconce, came with a set of product shots, two reference bathrooms, and a note that started with “Luxury look.” The client wanted higher ceilings, better finishes, bigger mirrors and sinks, decor matched to the fixture, and one frame with the shades facing up and one facing down. The references set the mood, and the brief was clear that they were not to be copied. Other briefs are a single phrase: “artistic and cozy,” “art deco influence.” From there, our artists work out the room, the camera, and how much wall or ceiling the fixture needs to read at its true size. Pendant and sconce renders follow the same route as the chandeliers.

Modeled Fixtures for Glossy Finishes

Where a composite would flatten the finish, as with the glossy shades in the renders above, we modeled the fixture in 3D from a photo of the physical sample. The shine and the color now hold up next to the real thing. Our guide to lighting product rendering walks through how a fixture gets from reference files to a finished image.

Holiday Scenes

Livex also orders festive versions of its rooms: the same fixtures in interiors dressed for Christmas and New Year, ready for the season.

Product Animation

Not everything stays still. We also produced a short product animation for the brand.

How Livex Uses the Renders

Livex puts these light fixture renders to work in every channel it sells through. They appear in the brand’s print catalog, which is also published on livexlighting.com as an interactive flipbook. They sit in product galleries on large retail sites such as Home Depot, Walmart, and Amazon, next to the white-background shots. And they run on the brand’s Instagram, holiday posts included. That is why every scene ships as a web JPG, a print-ready TIF, a layered PSD, and the native V-Ray file.

The V-Ray files matter more than they look. Together with a set of empty interiors we built for Livex, from a lobby and a restaurant to a bedroom and a home office, they give the brand a library of rooms it can reuse for future fixtures.

This kind of project, room scenes for a decorative lighting catalog that has more finishes than photo days, is a format we run as an ongoing service and one part of our 3D rendering for lighting products.

You don’t have to hand over a full catalog to see if it fits. Start with one fixture: one SKU, two scenes, and you can judge the result against the product page you have today.
